Reference: Probably of the same year as the patented Dutch couple of 1940, for which see Brunialti, American Costume Jewelry, pp. 55, 56 and COR264 (also unsigned). Roberto Brunialti communicates that Womens Wear Daily 1 March 1940 describes a series of 'tiny enamel figures of natives of various countries, are to be worn in sets, as Cohn & Rosenberger feature them' - dating this and other such pieces.
